Welcome

Welcome to St. Martin’s C. E. Primary School’s website. Whether you are a prospective parent, student, member of staff, parent or governor, we hope you find the information you are looking for here. We pride ourselves on being a warm and friendly school that welcomes visitors and actively encourages partnership with parents.

Message from the Headteacher

It is with pleasure I welcome you to St Martin’s CE Primary School. Having opened in 2015 as one of the schools in the Frays Academy Trust, St Martin’s is now in its ninth year of operation. In March 2018, the school received a ‘Good’ outcome in the SIAMS inspection and in September 2023, retained its 'Good’ Ofsted inspection grading.

Those that visit the school are instantly impressed by our modern facilities, which include a food technology room, MUGA and dance studio. But our school is so much more!

‘Parents and pupils,  of all faiths and none,  say they feel welcome and included, whilst also valuing what the Christian character and the school’s Christian values bring to their lives’ SIAMS report 2018.

As a Church of England school, a Christian ethos is at our heart and our values of Trust, Compassion, Courage and Perseverance guide everything we do and the decisions we make. We support our children to be courageous advocates, striving to be the best they can be as learners and members of the school community and beyond.

We are determined that all our children achieve well through high expectations and an ambitious curriculum, irrespective of their starting points. Whilst we are a 2-form entry mainstream primary school, we also provide a Specialist Resource Provision for pupils with an Education and Healthcare plan for 12 children with Autistic Spectrum Condition. Pupils who are part of the Oasis provision benefit from an OT room, Sensory room and specialist therapies such as speech and language therapy, alongside the National Curriculum subjects and, where appropriate, a life skills curriculum. Applications to the Oasis must be made through the local authority and not through the school directly. Further information regarding the criteria may be found in the Inclusion section of our website.

'There is a keen sense of inclusion, respect and integration of all.' Ofsted 2023

We are a friendly, kind and happy school and our pupils enjoy warm working relationships with the staff. We hope you come and pay us a visit and we look forward to welcoming you and your children to our school community.
